BUDAPEST, SEPTEMBER 5 /SRNA/ – Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is a metropolis of beautiful architecture, history, unique cuisine, UNESCO-protected landmarks, and one of the greatest cultural centers of this part of Europe.
Located on both banks of the Danube, Budapest unites the colorful hills of Buda and the wide, lively boulevards of Pest.
A harmonious mixture of architectural styles, spacious squares, wide avenues, large parks, and iconic bridges have given the Hungarian capital the nickname "Paris of Eastern Europe".
The largest thermal pipeline in the world, the oldest underground railway in Europe, the Parliament building – the third largest in the world, and the largest synagogue in Europe are just some of the reasons to visit Budapest.
Although a very expansive city, moving through Budapest is extremely easy thanks to a metro system consisting of four intersecting lines that take you wherever you want to go.
The best time to visit Budapest is in spring, from March to May, or in autumn, from September to November, while the largest number of tourists arrive during the summer.
During spring the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller, while winters can be quite cold.
If you decide to visit Budapest, the main attractions you can see are the Parliament, the Chain Bridge, Heroes' Square and the Millennium Monument, Buda Castle, St. Stephen's Basilica, the Shoes on the Danube Bank, and the Great Synagogue.
