SARAJEVO, JULY 26 /SRNA/ – Miroslav Vujičić, a SNSD deputy in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, told SRNA that the FBiH authorities are unwilling to address the issue of Serb returnees' security, who are frequently the targets of attacks.

Vujičić says that FBiH Minister of Interior Ramo Isak is dealing with nonsense, while not a single case involving attacks on Serbs in FBiH has been solved.

"And in cases that are supposedly resolved, like the recent attack on the Orthodox church in Tuzla. they just say it was committed by a minor," Vujičić said.

He recalled a case that was never solved - the disappearance of 89-year-old Jovanka Đurić from the village of Tumare in the Federation’s Lukavac municipality - and stressed that such incidents send very discouraging messages to returnees at a time when everyone should be living in peace.

Vujičić pointed out that in all parts of FBiH, Serb cemeteries are subject to devastation and destruction due to inaction by the Federal Ministry of Interior.

According to him, the returnee population faces the most serious economic and security-related problems.

Attacks on Serb returnees, their property, and religious sites in FBiH continue unabated. The recent attack on a chapel at the Serbian Orthodox cemetery Karaula near Kakanj, as well as dozens of similar incidents over the past year and a half, have not prompted adequate response or led to the identification of perpetrators.
