PUNISH PERPETRATORS OF VANDALISM AT THE CATHEDRAL CHURCH IN TUZLA

SARAJEVO, JULY 18 /SRNA/ - The Embassy of the Russian Federation in BiH strongly condemns the vandal attack on the Cathedral Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God in Tuzla, and expects law enforcement authorities to take measures to identify and punish the perpetrators.

"We are appalled by the news that the Orthodox Cathedral in Tuzla was attacked by vandals and thieves. In particular, the perpetrators damaged the icon frame and the shrine associated with Saint Blessed Matrona of Moscow. All such attacks on religious sites deserve the strongest condemnation," the Russian Embassy said in a statement.

Unknown perpetrators desecrated the Cathedral Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God in Tuzla this morning, damaged the reliquary of Saint Blessed Matrona of Moscow, broke into the church shop, and stole donated money.

Two unidentified individuals entered the church this morning under the pretense of praying, but committed burglary and fled.
