BOSANSKI PETROVAC, JUNE 4 /SRNA/ – Due to the absence of SDA councilors, the fourth extraordinary session of the Municipal Council of Bosanski Petrovac was not held yesterday.
"Although the agenda of the session included issues of vital importance for residents – from the use of funds from water fees to the public utilities program – the meeting ended before it began. The reason: the SDA councilors did not show up, thereby breaking the quorum and once again blocking the Council's work," the SNSD Municipal Board of Bosanski Petrovac stated.
The statement adds that the irony lies in the fact that it was the SDA group that just a week ago demanded the convening of an extraordinary session on the same topic.
"That session, which we pointed out was legally questionable and a precedent, was at the time labelled as ‘urgent’, and anyone who failed to attend was accused of being ‘against the people of Bosanski Petrovac’. Today, however, when the session was convened in full accordance with the Rules of Procedure – they boycott it," SNSD stated.
In addition, the agenda included the verification of the mandate of the new SNSD councilor, Nemanja Kecman, who is to replace the outgoing councilor and chairman Nemanja Davidović.
"By failing to appear, the SDA obstructed the verification, continuing three month-long blockade also fueled by the Central Election Commission of BiH. All SNSD councillors attended the recent session where Mensud Hidić from SDA had his mandate verified, during which we congratulated and showed respect. We did not block, yet we are being blocked. We don’t ask why – because we are simply not the same," SNSD emphasized.
They added that this situation raises important questions: Have the rodents and infections, which caused public concern weeks ago, suddenly disappeared? Has road maintenance ceased to be a priority? Do we no longer need street lighting?
"Instead of answers, it is enough to listen to what Mr. Mahmut Jukić himself said about all of this. His words speak volumes. With each passing day, it becomes clearer: Bosanski Petrovac is a hostage of political irresponsibility, incompetence, and the unprincipled conduct of Mahmut Jukić and his political allies. The question remains – how long will this go on?" SNSD concluded.
