KILLED ELDERLY WOMAN IS CITIZEN OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA - PERPETRATOR MUST BE FOUND URGENTLY

DOBOJ, JUNE 29 /SRNA/ - Petrovo Mayor Ozren Petković stated that the elderly woman Jela Pejić, who was killed in the Rovine settlement near Lukavac, is a citizen of Republika Srpska, and called for the perpetrator to be found and punished urgently.

Petković told SRNA that Pejić was registered in Petrovo, and that her birthplace, Rudine, became part of the Federation city of Lukavac after the end of the Defense Patriotic War.

Condemning the murder, Petković emphasized that it is unimaginable that after so much time, Serbs are still being killed in the Federation of BiH.

“This is an extremely bad message for Serb returnees in the Federation of BiH, as well as for those planning to return,” Petković said.

He reminded that the murder of the elderly woman Jela last night, as well as the killing of the elderly Jovanka Đurić in Tumare, which also belongs to Lukavac, are a great disappointment in circumstances where Serbs are still being labeled as aggressors.

“Who did eighty-year-old Jela and ninety-year-old Jovanka attack on their doorsteps?” Petković asked.

The murder of the elderly woman Jela Pejić was confirmed to SRNA by the president of the local community of Panjik, Miladin Nedić.

He stated that the Rovine settlement belongs to this local community, which is part of the city of Lukavac.
