FC SARAJEVO TERMINATES GOALKEEPER’S CONTRACT AFTER HIS FATHER POSTED A PHOTO OF GENERAL MLADIĆ

SARAJEVO, AUGUST 31 /SRNA/ - The Academy of FC Sarajevo has decided to terminate its cooperation with young goalkeeper V.V. because, according to the club, his father glorified “convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić” on social media.

His father shared a photograph on his social media profiles with the message: “Thank you for everything, General!”

According to reports by media outlets in the FBiH, the move was met with strong condemnation from FC Sarajevo supporters, as well as the wider sports and public community in the FBiH.

The club’s management immediately responded, stating that there was no place in their organization for those who, as they put it, promote convicted war criminals.

Federation-based media outlets published the young goalkeeper’s full name and photograph, effectively putting a target on his back.
