ELDERLY LADY JELA PEJIĆ KILLED

DOBOJ, JUNE 29 /SRNA/ - Serb returnee Jela Pejić was killed last night in the Rovine settlement near Lukavac, Miladin Nedić, president of the Panjik local returnee community, told SRNA.

He stated that the elderly woman lived alone and that Rovine is located right next to the inter-entity boundary line.

Nedić stated that he was informed about the incident this morning and that there is currently no further information available regarding the case.

Ljubiša Mijatović, president of the Tumare local community, told SRNA that this is a bad message for all Serb returnees.

He said he was unpleasantly surprised and learned about the incident from the media.

The murder of the elderly woman is one in a series of attacks against Serb returnees in Lukavac.

The Cantonal Court in Tuzla issued a first-instance guilty verdict in January this year against Samel Ćatić, who on July 30, 2023, killed ninety-year-old Serb returnee Jovanka Đurić in Tumare.
