DESECRATED ORTHODOX CEMETERIES - MESSAGE TO SERBS THAT THEY ARE NOT WELCOME

SARAJEVO, MAY 17 /SRNA/ - The desecrated cemeteries and a chapel in Kakanj are a message to Serbs that they are not welcome, the president of the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Serbs in the FBiH, Đorđe Radanović, told SRNA.

Radanović said that more than 20 chapels and parish homes were destroyed in Kakanj municipality between 1992 and 1995, even though there were no military operations there.

According to him, all the cemeteries have been almost completely destroyed.

"This only shows that Serbs cannot survive without Republika Srpska," Radanović emphasized.

The Committee previously told SRNA that Orthodox cemeteries in the villages of Danci near Kakanj and Mošćanica near Zenica were desecrated.
