CVIJANOVIĆ: RELEVANT INSTITUTIONS IN THE FBiH MUST URGENTLY INVESTIGATE CIRCUMSTANCES OF MURDER OF SERB RETURNEE

EAST SARAJEVO, JUNE 29 /SRNA/ - The Serb member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, said she was shocked by the news of the murder of Serb returnee Jela Pejić in the village of Rovine, municipality of Lukavac, and strongly condemned this heinous crime against the 76-year-old woman.

"Unfortunately, this is just one in a series of attacks on Serb returnees and their property in the Federation of BiH, and it is not the first to result in death. In most cases, the attacks have never been properly prosecuted, nor have the perpetrators been found," Cvijanović emphasized.

She stated that for years, there have been warnings about the difficult position of returnees in the FBiH, their discrimination, and physical endangerment, and that these are the consequences of the negligent attitude of the relevant institutions in the FBiH.

“I demand that they urgently and without delay determine all the circumstances of this crime, and bring the perpetrator or perpetrators to justice and impose appropriate sanctions,” Cvijanović said.
