CEC ILLEGALLY STRIPED NEMANJA DAVIDOVIĆ OF HIS MANDATE

SARAJEVO, MARCH 26 /SRNA/ - Stripping Nemanja Davidović of the mandate of councilor in the Municipal Council of Bosanski Petrovac, due to an alleged conflict of interest, is a violation of the rights of Serbs in the Federation of BiH /FBiH/, Đorđe Radanović, president of the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Serbs in the FBiH, told SRNA.

"Davidović is an advisor to the President of Republika Srpska, and the President of the Republic, according to the Constitution of Republika Srpska, is not an executive body, nor is it a legislative body, so the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH did not apply the regulation in accordance with the law," Radanović explained.

He believes that the CEC of BiH, as a first-instance body, should annul its decision and establish that it was made unlawfully.

"Nemanja Davidović is a leader of Serbs in that part of the Upper Krajina, and this is a way to neutralize the organization of Serbs in the Federation of BiH," Radanović said.

Davidović earlier told SRNA that the decision of the CEC of BiH to strip him of his mandate represents a political decapitation of the Serbian people in this municipality, contrary to European standards of protecting the rights of constituent peoples and national minorities.
