BILEĆA, NOVEMBER 16 /SRNA/ – The choice voters in Republika Srpska face is simple – either they are for Republika Srpska or for Christian Schmidt – it was emphasized this evening in Bileća during the meeting of SNSD President Milorad Dodik and the party’s candidate for the President of Srpska, Siniša Karan, with local residents.

“Schmidt wants to overturn the achievements of Republika Srpska and the autonomy granted to us by the Dayton Agreement. We are fighting to preserve the status of Republika Srpska,” Karan told reporters after the meeting at the Cultural Centre.

He stressed that the choice in the upcoming early presidential election is very clear.

Karan stressed that Bileća has recently seen evident progress as a result of close cooperation between local and republican authorities, all in the interest of citizens, adding that it is important for the local administration to prepare projects so they can be implemented with support from the Republika Srpska government.

SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said that every vote cast for anyone other than Siniša Karan is a vote for Schmidt and for the Bosniaks.

He called on all people in Bileća, and throughout Republika Srpska, to vote for Siniša Karan.

“In these circumstances, which were created by others and not by our choice, I am the one who ensures political unity and continuity, and Siniša Karan is my candidate for the president, and I ask everyone to vote for him,” Dodik said.

He added that he will continue to stand by the Serb people and protect their interests, as he has until now, saying he is certain that on 23 November, Karan will become the President of Srpska.

Speaking about ongoing projects in Bileća, Dodik emphasized that undoubtable changes are underway.

“Bileća is proof of how we work and build, and that is why we must stay together. I believe that we can now come to Bileća with our heads held high,” Dodik assessed.

He added that the period of stagnation that once affected Bileća has been overcome, that infrastructure issues are now being resolved, a new kindergarten is being built with an investment of BAM 4.2 million and many necessary repairs have already been completed.

Dodik noted that numerous infrastructure projects will continue in Bileća in the future, and that in the coming period, the issue of the seat of the ‘Dabar’ Hydropower Plant will also be addressed.
