EAST SARAJEVO, APRIL 24 /SRNA/ - The decision of the illegitimate Christian Schmidt to unilaterally and violently suspend the budget funding of the SNSD and the United Srpska represents a legal, political and democratic precedent unprecedented in modern European practice, which will not go unanswered, SNSD Depiuty Leader Sanja Vulić told SRNA.
With this act, Vulić pointed out, Schmidt clearly proves he does not respect the basic principles of democracy, the rule of law and political pluralism.
Vulić reminded that the Law on Financing Political Parties clearly stipulates that funds from the budget of institutions and international obligations of BiH, intended for financing political parties, are distributed in accordance with the number of terms won by political subjects in the parliamentary bodies of BiH.
"With this violent move, Schmidt not only violates domestic law, but also shows open contempt for the will of the citizens who elected their representatives," said Vulić.
After failing to politically liquidate the president of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, added Vulić, Schmidt is now trying administrative measures to shut down the entire political entity - the SNSD, which enjoys broad popular support.
She has emphasized that this act is nothing more than an attempt at political elimination and brutal disciplining of one side, which destroys the little remaining trust in the institutions of BiH.
"Property of BiH has obviously become a fetish of Christian Schmidt, and the biggest obstacle on that path is precisely the honest and determined people of Republika Srpska. Those people know who defends their interests and know how to recognize political violence when they see it," said Vulić.
She has stated that Republika Srpska will not silently watch as the foundations of democracy crumble and the voice of the people is stifled.
"This decision will not go unanswered," said Vulić.
At today's press conference, Schmidt said that he made a decision "to suspend the payment of budget funds to the SNSD and the United Srpska".
