SARAJEVO, APRIL 5 /SRNA/ - The head of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Sanja Vulić, told SRNA that today's statement by Elmedin Konaković, in which he attributes "terrorist threats" to the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, represents dangerous manipulation of the public and the abuse of diplomatic language in dirty political games.
"Konaković is very nervous, and he publicly showed it today at a press conference. Neither President Dodik issued any threats, nor are his views outside the constitutional powers of the President of Republika Srpska. We know very well who the terrorists are, where they come from, and what they have done, especially in BiH, but we will talk about that another time," Vulić emphasized.
Referring to the Vienna Convention in this context, Vulić told SRNA, is utterly wrong, as it stipulates in Article 41 that foreign representatives must refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of the host country.
"In the case that Konaković calls a 'diplomatic incident,' the elected President of Republika Srpska pointed out the behavior he considers politically and institutionally questionable, which is his right and obligation. A diplomatic incident is when a minister of a country is linked to drug cartels, as federal media report," Vulić emphasized.
She added that the rhetoric used by Konaković, in which he calls the President of the Republic "a killer, a butcher, and a hater," without any legal basis, says nothing about him but speaks volumes about Konaković.
"With such language, Konaković offends hundreds of thousands of people who have placed their trust in President Dodik and deliberately sows further division in an already complicated situation. If he cared about BiH's European path and stability, then he would stop spreading fear and writing political pamphlets to foreign embassies, in which he only attacks the Serbian people in his desire to make BiH a unitary state.
We know their desires and dreams, which, to their regret, will remain nothing but empty wishes and dreams. Solutions do not come from the outside, but from agreements among domestic actors – based on the Constitution, with mutual respect and responsibility," Vulić said.
She pointed out that for both the domestic and international public, she, as a Serb, likes that Konaković publicly admitted that even the name 'Republika Srpska' bothers him, and especially that he cannot hide the fact that Milorad Dodik is his nightmare, to the point where he is no longer able to control himself, as evidenced by the hysteria he displayed today in front of the media.
"Republika Srpska is a fact, older than both BiH and the Federation of BiH, just as it is a fact that the people, in large numbers, have supported and continue to support the policy of Milorad Dodik. I know this bothers the nervous Konaković, but he always forgets that Milorad Dodik is a leader, and that the officials of the Republic and the Serbian people are not submissive like him, who ties his horse wherever the master tells him.
We are a proud people, proud of our past and present, of our Republika Srpska, and that's why he longs for Nebojša Vukanović to be a minister, along with others like him, so that together they can serve those they are accustomed to serving," Vulić said.
