TWO BORDER CROSSINGS EACH IN GRADIŠKA AND RAČA SOON

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ – Director of the Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/ of BiH Zoran Tegeltija expressed the expectation that there would soon be two border crossings each in Gradiška and Rača, pointing out that the issue is being blocked by one person from the Federation of BiH – ITA Governing Board member Zijad Krnjić.

"Krnjić does not want to vote on the systematisation and is blocking interstate agreements. In addition to the problems with Gradiška, we also have problems with the organisational structure at the new Rača Two border crossing, which we expect to be opened on October 15," Tegeltija told the press.

He assessed that this would be very good for passengers and people transporting goods, as Rača is currently heavily congested.

Regarding the settlement of accounts between the entities, Tegeltija said it was a fact that there had been no such settlement since 2022, but that it still accounted for less than one percent of the total funds collected by the ITA.

Tegeltija said that both the Authority's management and the media would like to know what is happening with the purchase of a building for the ITA in Banja Luka, adding that there was still no response to an appeal that had been forwarded to the BiH Complaints Review Commission several months ago.

"Unofficially, we received information that the Commission made some decision last week, but we do not know what kind of decision it was. It is not up to us; some other institutions are deciding on this," Tegeltija emphasized.

He said a vacancy announcement had been issued for the recruitment of 263 civil servants, with the procedure being conducted by the BiH Civil Service Agency.

"We need workers. By the end of the year, 100 people will retire," Tegeltija said.

Commenting on complaints from the FBiH that, in their view, national representation is insufficient in the ITA's management structures, Tegeltija stressed that the institution carefully monitors its national composition and that this would not be undermined, nor did they have any reason or motive to do so.
