TADIĆ: INCOMPLETE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF BiH ACTS AS INSTRUMENT FOR REVISING AND DISMANTLING THE DAYTON

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, JANUARY 17 /SRNA/ – The incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH, at every item on its agenda dealing with constitutional review, repeatedly proves that it does not fulfill its constitutional duty as an institution obliged to uphold the Constitution of BiH, instead acting as an instrument for revising and dismantling the Dayton Peace Agreement, legal expert Ognjen Tadić told SRNA.

He emphasizes this has generally been the case since the establishment of this judicial institution, which has intensified significantly with the arrival of Christian Schmidt in BiH.

"It must be clear to everyone, and it is seen daily, that Milorad Dodik did not cause the crises in BiH, but Schmidt. Milorad Dodik no longer performs the competencies of the Republika Srpska president, yet the crisis continues and will continue as long as Schmidt remains in BiH, because he will not abandon his intent to impose himself as the ‘High Representative’ in Republika Srpska as well," Tadić said.

He points out that Republika Srpska cannot accept this, as it would represent a serious violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement that would lead to its annulment.

"In all of this, the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH is merely an instrument of anti-Dayton policy, while the election of the Republika Srpska Government is just another topic through which it is sought to prove that the final word in BiH belongs to Christian Schmidt," Tadić added.
