SARAJEVO, AUGUST 6 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska will provide an institutional response to the decision by the BiH Central Election Commission /CEC/ to terminate the presidential office of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, stated SNSD MP in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Milorad Kojić.
Kojić noted that the CEC is now particularly efficient, ready to act and to pursue the interests of a segment of the international community, aiming to ensure that Dodik no longer serves as president of Republika Srpska.
"The CEC, as part of a synchronized political process, rushed to begin the procedure to strip the president of Republika Srpska of his office," said Kojić.
He recalled the decisions of the SNSD Main Committee, the statements made by coalition partners, and those of the president of Republika Srpska himself, announcing a clear institutional response to the attempt to override the will of the people.
Kojić emphasized the importance of Republika Srpska consistently responding institutionally to all challenges, unlike judicial institutions which, according to him, are evidently dismantling the constitutional and legal order under the influence of Bosniak politics and the international community.
The Central Election Commission of BiH today issued a decision terminating the presidential office of Milorad Dodik as President of Republika Srpska, who was elected in the 2022 general elections. The decision is subject to appeal. CEC's decision followed the ruling of the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH, which upheld an earlier first-instance judgment sentencing President Dodik to one year in prison and six years of a ban on political activity for "non-compliance with the decisions of Christian Schmidt".
