BELGRADE, AUGUST 1 /SRNA/ - Former Serbian diplomat Zoran Milivojević believes that the Serb people, after the Court of BiH confirmed the first-instance verdict against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, will not accept bringing into question not only the President of Srpska, but also all the institutions of the Srpska.

Milivojević assessed that Republika Srpska will respect its institutions and its responsibilities, while Dodik will perform his duties.

"I don't think there is any chance of taking measures there, of possibly trying to make an arrest. That would be a risk for the survival of BiH. I don't think anyone is ready for that risk. Although, unfortunately, these are the times when anything is possible," Milivojević told SRNA.

Milivojević assessed that, in any case, there is some radicalization going on, and warned of the danger of jeopardizing the survival of peace and stability in the region.

He pointed out that if an attempt is made to actually realize this, then there is a risk of bringing the entire region into a state of instability again, opening Pandora's Box and eliminating everything that ensured peace and stability in the last 30 years.

Milivojević said that the confirmation of the verdict against the president of Republika Srpska is an attempt to realize the strategic goals for which the proceedings were initiated, which is to disable Dodik from political activity and to question the position of Republika Srpska.

"That is the essence of the whole story. Therefore, there is no giving up on that strategy, that concept which, in essence, was started with the appointment of Christian Schmidt and the attempt to centralize BiH to the detriment of the original Dayton Agreement, a concept that ensures its normal functioning in peaceful conditions, which are two entities and three constituent nations," he said.

Appellate Division Panel of the Court of BiH confirmed the conviction of the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik in the case against him for disobeying the decisions of Christian Schmidt, who presents himself as a high representative.

Dodik was sentenced to one year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity, for disobeying Christian Schmidt's decisions.
