SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 9 /SRNA/ - Rewriting the Dayton Peace Agreement and its rejection by the signatories cannot serve as a basis for resolving the situation in BiH, the Russian Embassy in BiH told SRNA.

Commenting on a statement by Zukan Helez, Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, and his calls for “the abolition of Republika Srpska,” the Russian Embassy stressed that the only realistic basis for resolving the situation in BiH is reaching a compromise and mutually acceptable agreement between the two entities and the three constituent peoples in BiH.

The Russian Embassy said that Helez’s provocative statements should be assessed by the relevant international bodies.

“First and foremost, the Office of the High Representative and the OSCE Mission in BiH,” the Russian Embassy said.
