BANJA LUKA, JULY 6 /SRNA/ - The procedure in which the Court of BiH accepted the Prosecution's request to lift the detention order against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, thereby also nullifying the arrest warrant issued for him, is completely legal, and the media uproar about it has arisen solely because it concerns the president of Srpska, lawyer Nebojša Pantić told SRNA.
He pointesout that this procedure is nothing unusual in the judiciary.
Speaking about the investigation being conducted against the president of Republika Srpska over the alleged attack on the constitutional order of BiH, Pantić said it is a political process.
"No criminal offense was committed here, the investigation will reveal that," Pantić said.
On Friday, July 4, the Court of BiH issued a ruling accepting the Prosecution's request to lift the detention order against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, thus also canceling the warrant that the Court had previously issued for him.
The detention order was lifted after it was determined that the reasons for its previous imposition no longer exist.
The Court of BiH had earlier ordered a one-month detention for Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik on reasonable suspicion that he committed, as stated, the criminal offense of "attack on the constitutional order."
