NO AGREEMENT ON ACCEPTING MIGRANTS WILL BE SIGNED

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 7 /SRNA/ - BiH will not sign any agreement on accepting migrants from any region, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik stated firmly today.

“For us, that is unacceptable. It became clear when the British Foreign Secretary visited Sarajevo that this was the main issue. There was no real support for Bosnia or democratic processes; that was the main point, to assess the mood,” Dodik emphasized.

He added that when the British Foreign Secretary was in Sarajevo, the Muslims told him it was fine.

Dodik said that if they want to illegally settle them in the Federation of BiH, that’s their problem, but it won’t be allowed in Republika Srpska.

He also reminded that during the migrant crisis, Republika Srpska did not allow them to be stationed in its territory.

"We said they are not welcome here and ensured they passed through quickly. There is no reason to change our approach, regardless of what we hear from the British Prime Minister, who never misses an opportunity to say that BiH should accept their delinquent migrants," Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka.

He explained that they would pick the good ones for themselves and leave the bad ones, quasi-criminals and criminals, for us to deal with, and then constantly accuse us of being an unstable region.

Dodik said that the British Foreign Secretary also met with the opposition from Republika Srpska, where the issue of migrants was mentioned, but they refuse to acknowledge it.

He added that at that time, the British Foreign Secretary said that this is the main policy Britain will focus on in the coming years and that they see BiH as a partner.

He pointed out that the leaders of the PDP and SDS, Draško Stanivuković and Milan Miličević, respectively, who were sitting where it was said that policies for the insertion of migrants from Great Britain into BiH should be implemented, should have reacted and understood that Republika Srpska participates in decision-making in BiH, and if migrants arrive, the obligation also falls on Srpska.

“They did not react. Things became clear probably when the Foreign Secretary, as I can assume, returned to Britain and told his prime minister that everything is fine, which is why the prime minister clearly said ‘BiH Ok'd.’ It did not, and I’m telling him it will not,” emphasized the President of Srpska.

He believes they will therefore support the opposition even more, which remains silent on this issue.

"But fortunately, they are not in charge of it. It won't pass," said Dodik.
