SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 27 /SRNA/ – The court order to seize the property of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers Elmedin Konaković with accrued interest, after he was convicted of defamation and fined BAM 3,000, demonstrates his arrogance and irresponsibility, therefore any serious system would find it as grounds for his dismissal, believes Milorad Kojić, the SNSD member of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament.
"Konaković behaves like a participant in some reality show, rather than as a minister of foreign affairs. Since the beginning of his office, he has constantly been linked to various scandals," Kojić told SRNA.
In the specific case in which Konaković was sued for defamation, his arrogance went so far that he refused to pay the awarded party, forcing the initiation of enforcement proceedings and the seizure of part of his property for the amount of BAM 3,000.
"Apparently, he only wants to take responsibility with `Dino and Tito,` while in terms of enforcing justice and, most importantly, speaking truthfully in public, which he did not do in this case, it demonstrates precisely his arrogance and insolence, as well as his attitude toward the service and the work he performs," Kojić said.
Kojić emphasized that serious systems, which BiH is not, as it is a failed state community, such a case would be an excellent reason for dismissal.
The Municipal Court Sarajevo ordered the seizure of Konaković's property with accrued interest after he was convicted of defamation and fined BAM 3,000.
The court ruled on December 6, 2019, that Konaković had committed defamation against Maja Hadžihalilović regarding statements made on September 20, 2018, related to alleged irregularities in the electoral process.
The court awarded BAM 3,000 KM in non-material damages with accrued interest from the date of the lawsuit, as well as 1,060 KM in legal costs.
