MORE THAN A TON OF DRUGS WORTH FIVE MILLION EUROS SEIZED

SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 17 /SRNA/ - Synthetic narcotics with a total weight of 1,095 kilograms and market value estimated at five million Euros were seized in the Ilijaš municipality, while one person was arrested, the Border Police of BiH announced.


It is an extremely dangerous synthetic organic compound that is a substitute for cocaine and ecstasy.

On the street market of BiH and the region, such synthetic stimulants are sold at a price of 20 to 30 Euros per gram.

"Taking into account that it is 1.1 tons of drugs, when it is broken down into individual street doses and grams, its total value on the street reaches between 25 and 33 million Euros," the Border Police pointed out.

In addition to drugs, evidence materials, special face masks with advanced system filters and ribbed tubes for air supply, which are used exclusively during chemical synthesis and production of illegal substances, i.e. as protection during "cooking", were temporarily confiscated.

Firearms, mobile phones, seals and business documents of legal entities were also confiscated.

The drugs were seized as part of the Bura operation, after continuous work on the case by the Border Police and the BiH Indirect Taxation Authority yesterday and today, with the assistance of police officers from the Sarajevo Canton Interior Ministry.

All activities in the field are carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and according to the orders of the Court of BiH.

The operation continues today, with searches at several locations. Work on the case continues.
