BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 21 /SRNA/ - Radovan Kovačević, a Serb member of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, emphasized that the adoption of the BiH budget by outvoting the Serb member of the BiH Presidency is the clearest indication of the kind of BiH Sarajevo truly seeks.
“Sarajevo wants a BiH where Serbs and Republika Srpska have no say, and where others decide how our money is spent, often against our interests,” Kovačević said.
Kovačević emphasized that this is yet another indication of the necessity to protect Republika Srpska by all available means.
“One of the best ways to do this is through a referendum, which will soon be announced in Republika Srpska and held in the near future,” Kovačević stressed.
According to him, in that referendum, the Serb people will confirm one key fact - that they have the right, guaranteed by the Dayton Agreement, to decide their destiny.
Regarding the adopted budget, Kovačević told RTRS that it contains funds directed specifically against Republika Srpska.
“When you look at the budget, you see that funds were taken to hold elections in Republika Srpska - elections that Republika Srpska does not recognize. They took the money to finance so-called cultural institutions, which are not within BiH’s constitutional competencies. They took the citizens’ money from Republika Srpska to give to Zukan Helez to buy weapons that, above all, are planned to be used against Serbs and Republika Srpska,” Kovačević emphasized.
Kovačević stressed that the response to such actions is simple.
“If we want to decide how to live - whether we will continue building highways through Republika Srpska, new hospitals, developing infrastructure, paying salaries and pensions, or whether we will let those in Sarajevo decide how to spend our money and use it against us - then we will make that decision through a referendum,” Kovačević pointed out.
Kovačević stated that there is only one true answer, and that is Republika Srpska.
