BANJA LUKA, MAY 8 /SRNA/ - The majority required to pass decisions in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly is 22, and parties from the Bosniak bloc, that is, those based in Sarajevo, already have 25 MPs, said Radovan Kovačević, a member of the Serbian Caucus in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
"Only one obstacle stands between them and the ability to independently pass any decision they want, and this is the entity vote. Unfortunately, even that doesn't require a majority from Republika Srpska, but just five out of 14 votes, which happens to be exactly the current capacity of our opposition," Kovačević said.
So, he wrote on X, 25 MPs from Bosniak parties and five opposition MPs from Republika Srpska can independently make any decision they want, amend the Constitution of BiH, for example, or even abolish the entities.
"The Serb people and the citizens of Republika Srpska did not give the opposition the mandate to make key decisions, but designated them solely as representatives of the minority will of the people.
We fear that this is why, now also as part of the expanded Bosniak Caucus in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, they are calling on Christian Schmidt to diminish the constitutional capacity of Republika Srpska in that House as well, to fully open the path toward the unitarization of BiH. You will not succeed, Republika Srpska will win!" Kovačević said.
