KOVAČEVIĆ: NATIONAL UNITY AND INTERESTS OF SRPSKA MUST BE ABOVE ALL DIVISIONS

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 2 /SRNA/ – Serb delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Radovan Kovačević stated that national unity of the Serb people and all political parties, when it comes to the interests of Republika Srpska, must be above all divisions.

Kovačević reiterated that the official position of Srpska, expressed through its institutions, is that Christian Schmidt is not the High Representative.

"The moment the opposition from Republika Srpska meets with him, they legitimize him and try to delegitimize Republika Srpska – but they also delegitimize themselves, and these things are perfectly clear," Kovačević said.

He emphasized that Srpska acts based on the Constitution of Republika Srpska and the Constitution of BiH, defending its constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Speaking to RTRS, Kovačević said the key point is that Republika Srpska should clearly express its political response through its institutions.

"Srpska needs to give a clear institutional response through its representatives at the joint level – in the Presidency, the Parliamentary Assembly, the Council of Ministers – and state: there is no moving forward, no going backward, no moving anywhere until we resolve this political and constitutional crisis and this attack on the constitutional rights of Republika Srpska," Kovačević concluded.
