BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 25 /SRNA/ – SNSD spokesperson Radovan Kovačević has stated that the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH, by annulling the early elections for President of Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations, is attempting to go after Republika Srpska, and emphasized that the people of Srpska will once again confirm that they do not allow impositions and can freely choose their president.
"The people of Republika Srpska will decide again, will not allow anyone to impose our representatives, and will more convincingly show that our choice is Siniša Karan," Kovačević said.
Speaking about the CEC members, he pointed out that some were directly nominated by SDS and PDP, questioning whether they could be expected to act objectively.
He noted that the Bosniak component was left intact, while the Croat and Serb members were selected by parties that do not represent the majority will of those two peoples.
"They rushed to select people who are not objective, but completely biased," Kovačević pointed out for RTRS.
He reiterated that it is not objective that the disputed votes are only those where Karan won, while the votes for the opposing candidate from SDS, Branko Blanuša, are not contested.
"Let their proteges in the CEC come forward and admit that Republika Srpska and the Serb people do not have the same right as everyone else - to choose their own representatives, but instead, they want to impose them on us," Kovačević said.
He concluded that in the repeated elections, the Serb people will demonstrate that they are a politically mature nation, capable of protecting their rights and electing those who will lead them.
