BANJA LUKA, JUNE 27 /SRNA/ - Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Radovan Kovačević, says it is evident the Bosniak political arena has unified without internal divisions, and that electoral losers from Republika Srpska and representatives of the minority will of its residents are being used as a small trailer to help carry out Bosniak political objectives.
"It's clear that citizens decide in elections who will be in power. The opposition from Republika Srpska has always lagged by several hundred thousand votes behind the political bloc led by SNSD and its coalition partners," Kovačević told the press in Banjaluka.
He claimed that the opposition has now decided that lacking hundreds of thousands of Serb votes doesn't matter, as they aim to compensate with Bosniak votes in both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly.
"They are now part of a coalition I call the Bosniak power. Because when all Bosniak parties unite, they become very strong, which is something the Republika Srpska residents need to understand. Majority in the House of Representatives makes 22, currently there are 25 deputies from Bosniak parties," Kovačević pointed out.
He warned that when the minority votes and a few "junior deputies" from Republika Srpska and the opposition are added to that, they gain the capacity to amend the Constitution.
"They have the potential to abolish Republika Srpska, revoke the constitutional status of Serbs, and transform BiH into what the Bosniak force has always wanted, which is BiH without Republika Srpska, without entities, without constituent peoples. A civic state where only they will the party to decide, while we are left with a few minority rights," Kovačević warned.
He stressed that such a transformation will not be allowed by those who represent the majority will of the Serb people and Republika Srpska, headed by President Milorad Dodik.
"We will certainly not allow them to succeed in that," Kovačević concluded.
