SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 20 /SRNA/ – The Council of Ministers has unanimously approved the opening of polling stations in BiH for Serbia's parliamentary elections, allowing Serbian citizens to cast their ballots, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac said in a statement to SRNA.

Košarac described the decision as an important victory for Republika Srpska's leadership.

The Council of Ministers approved the measure at an extraordinary telephone session held at Košarac's request.

The request stated that, in a diplomatic note dated September 28, the Serbian Embassy in BiH had informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the Council of Ministers that parliamentary elections would be held in Serbia on October 25. The embassy requested approval for voting to take place on BiH territory and for polling stations to be opened.

The decision confirms the principle of reciprocity, allowing citizens of BiH to vote on Serbian territory.
