BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 11 /SRNA/ – Elmedin Konaković is a desperate man who is not up to the task of being a minister, he is not even a politician, assessed the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović.
Cvijanović described Konaković’s recent public appearances, especially regarding Republika Srpska delegation’s visit to the United States, as a struggle for air, assessing that he merely wants to position himself politically in an election year.
Cvijanović called linking the NATO Reform Programme with the Srpska delegation’s visit to the United States a complete absurdity, adding that it is neither the first nor the last such claim that will be heard from Konaković.
“It is an invented, fabricated story,” Cvijanović told the portal Provjereno.
She explained that it is a standard programme adopted annually, but that Konaković tried to present it differently, adding that even his own public refuted him by explaining that he is playing games.
She also recalled that she had previously gone to NATO headquarters in Brussels herself and held talks with the Secretary General as she believed she should present the views of the Serb side, stressing that certain steps forward were made at that time and that the people in that mission behaved professionally and respected objections.
“I think we should build good relations and present our positions because they have been misinterpreted for many years,” Cvijanović said, adding that Bosniak officials have abused everything possible.
She cited as an example ambassadors who believe they should not provide cars when the Serb, rather than the Bosniak, member of the Presidency is visiting.
She also pointed to ambassadors and Konaković blocking correspondence so that diplomatic channels cannot be used, but, as she stated, other ways were found.
Regarding Konaković, who claims to know everything, Cvijanović says he does not and that nine months ago he could not even have dreamed that such diplomatic activities of Srpska in the United States would be taking place, whereas the Serb side not only dreamed of them but worked to make them happen - and they did happen.
