SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 5 /SRNA/ – Milorad Kojić, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Trade and Customs of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, told SRNA that the obstruction of putting the new Gradiška border crossing into operation proves that politicians from the Federation only declaratively support BiH’s European future.
He emphasized that one of the most modern border crossings has been built, yet a representative from FBiH is blocking the adoption of a formal decision that would improve the flow of goods, services, and people.
Kojić explained that the issue concerns Zijad Krnjić, a member of the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/ of BiH, who is rejecting the decision to amend the ITA’s Rulebook on Internal Organization and, through his actions, is making life more difficult for transport operators already facing major problems due to congestion at border crossings.
According to Kojić, undermining economic activity reflects a frustration among people in the FBiH, leading them to block anything located on the territory of Republika Srpska.
"That is a bad message and an absurd situation," Kojić said.
He noted that the Gradiška border crossing is an exit point to the EU.
"It is completely clear that their commitment is only declarative, and that the well-being of citizens, the economy, and business is not their priority," Kojić concluded.
