BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 6 /SRNA/ - The decision to grant prison leave and other out-of-prison privileges to Elfeta Veseli, who was finally convicted of the brutal murder of 12-year-old Slobodan Stojanović, is a profound insult and humiliation to the entire Serbian people, Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan said.

"When Veseli, convicted of the brutal murder of young Slobodan, is granted such privileges, it sends an unacceptable and disgraceful message about the treatment of Serb victims and lays bare the way BiH's distorted judicial system operates. While there is neither justice nor accountability for Serb victims, the murderer of a Serbian child is being rewarded," Karan told SRNA.

Karan said that decisions such as the one granting privileges to Elfeta Veseli confirm the unjust treatment of Serb victims and the privileged status of those responsible for their deaths, while crimes committed against Serbs, including the mass killings of Serb civilians in the Birač region and the Middle Drina area, as well as other grave crimes, continue to go without judicial resolution.
