EAST SARAJEVO, AUGUST 26 /SRNA/ – The Minister for Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers Srđan Amidžić told SRNA that more than BAM 16 million intended for Republika Srpska for digitalization, development of telecommunications, and infrastructure has been blocked in BiH institutions for months because the Minister of Communications and Transport Edin Forto persistently refuses to sign an agreement with the Government of Srpska.
Amidžić stressed that he will not and cannot initiate payment to anyone until Forto signs the agreement with Republika Srpska.
"Projects are at a standstill, investments are delayed, and the citizens of Republika Srpska are deprived of development," Amidžić said.
He pointed out that Forto refuses to sign the agreement with the Government of Republika Srpska, which is a legal prerequisite for the use of funds.
"Forto has already signed identical agreements with the Federation of BiH and the Brčko District, but they also cannot use their money, because funds are paid out only when all agreements are signed," explained Amidžić.
Amidžić pointed out that this concerns money from the revenues of the Communications Regulatory Agency, which the Council of Ministers allocated to the entities and the Brčko District back in 2024.
