DEMOCRACY ACCORDING TO BEĆIROVIĆ: THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS VALID ONLY IF IT ALIGNS WITH DESIRES OF FOREIGN EMBASSIES AND SARAJEVO OFFICES

BANJA LUKA, MAY 7 /SRNA/ - Democracy, according to Denis Bećirović, means that Sarajevo dictates what voters in Republika Srpska should think and who they should vote for, all with the blessing of his mentors from the embassies, Anja Ljubojević, Deputy Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, told SRNA.

Ljubojević told SRNA that interestingly, Bećirović's vision of democracy in BiH is solely what aligns with the will of foreigners and their desires regarding the selection of a partner within the Serbian people.

"But what Bećirović clearly overlooks are examples from countries he often uses as models, such as the United Kingdom. If we are praising British standards, why not apply the Scottish model of a referendum? Why, following Scotland's example, don't we hold referendums on independence or the formation of a third entity in BiH?" asked Ljubojević, commenting on Bećirović's statement in which, after openly attacking Republika Srpska, he called the opposition in Srpska "responsible representatives".

Or perhaps, Ljubojević pointed out, Bećirović's model of democracy is one in which the people are told: your will is valid only if it aligns with the desires of foreign embassies and Sarajevo's offices.

"Republika Srpska will not accept such `democracy`. The people decide, not Bećirović and his foreigners," Ljubojević emphasized.
