BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 1 /SRNA/ –Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik was convicted for respecting the Constitution of Republika Srpska, while at the same time Christian Schmidt was rewarded with enormous personal income and support from part of the international community for violating the Constitution of BiH and the Dayton Peace Agreement, said Nemanja Davidović, advisor to the president of Srpska.
Davidović emphasized that this alone shows the kind of principles and values on which today's EU stands - punishing legitimately elected representatives of the people and rewarding those who violate international agreements.
He pointed out that today's decision not only violated the law but introduced a dangerous precedent of retroactivity - as Dodik was tried for an alleged act committed before the so-called law was even in force. That, he says, speaks volumes about the state of law and justice in BiH.
He reminded that President Dodik was not elected by the BiH Court, the Central Election Commission, or internationals, but by more than 300,000 citizens of Republika Srpska.
"Any imposition of extraordinary elections tramples the will of the people and undermines democracy. Those demanding new elections are looking for a president tailored to the needs of internation - weak and without public support. Don't we already have a clear enough example in the Federation of BiH of what the result of such impositions would be?" Davidović stated.
Thr Serbs living in the Federation of BiH are following these developments with concern and fully support President Dodik and the institutions of Republika Srpska in their fight to preserve the constitutional order, sovereignty, and the Dayton Peace Agreement.
"Today's verdict is not only important for the president of Republika Srpska, but also for the future of the entire Serb people in BiH," Davidović concluded.
