BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA/ - Serb Member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stated that her recent visit to the United States was extremely successful, noting that the discussions she held helped to define key messages, which is highly significant for Republika Srpska, especially given the unjust situation created by Christian Schmidt and the judiciary, whose aim is to trample the will of the voters.
"When you have the opportunity to talk about all this with important people, you can say it is a major step forward for Republika Srpska," Cvijanović said.
She stressed that after a long time, there are now interlocutors within serious political structures in the United States, which she described as a huge plus and an opening for further dialogue.
Cvijanović pointed out that a process of normalization has begun, but that such an approach cannot be expected from the Office of the High Representative, which has abused the Dayton Agreement.
"No quality solution can come from the High Representative's office, because everything is subordinated to personal ambition, vindictiveness, and a lack of awareness about what is truly needed for BiH," Cvijanović emphasized.
She underlined that successive High Representatives have abused their positions, gravely undermining not only the Dayton Agreement but also BiH's internal relations, and said she had expected a clearer position from the EU, which has not materialized.
Cvijanović described the overall situation in BiH as "quite unhealthy," citing usurpation of authority, abuses within the judiciary, and distorted political processes.
Still, she stressed that the positive aspect is that peace exists and the security situation remains stable.
"BiH does not need enemies. It is already its own worst enemy, failing to resolve its political problems in the right way, failing to address international presence, and failing to strengthen its economic capacity properly," Cvijanović said.
She added that she sees no readiness or ability among partners in the Federation of BiH to resolve these issues but believes that eventually the time will come when "they will finally open their eyes."
Cvijanović concluded that Republika Srpska is fighting to eliminate everything not envisaged by the Dayton Agreement from political and legal practice, stressing that the OHR has consistently targeted Srpska.
"All interventions were aimed at reducing Republika Srpska's capacity - whether constitutional, political, or economic," Cvijanović said.
