BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 13 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović told SRNA that in her new term she would use all political, constitutional and democratic mechanisms at her disposal to preserve Republika Srpska's constitutional capacity, functionality and stability, while strengthening its resilience to challenges and pressures.
Cvijanović said her priorities in the new term would be to protect peace, stability and the functionality of Republika Srpska, together with its rights.
"I mean its constitutional capacity, its ability to defend its positions, whether in Sarajevo or anywhere on the international stage. And, of course, that here at home we remain united around the interests of the Republic," Cvijanović said in a podcast produced by the Media System of Republika Srpska - SRNA and published on its YouTube channel.
She stressed that she would use all political, constitutional and democratic mechanisms available to her for that purpose, adding that she had acted in the same way during her previous term.
"Our primary goal, wherever we work - in the Government, the Republika Srpska National Assembly, the House of Representatives, the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, the BiH Presidency or the Council of Ministers, is to take Republika Srpska into a new era without undermining its functionality, stability or its capacity to live its own life," said Cvijanović, who according to preliminary results of the BiH general elections won a convincing victory for a second term as Serb member of the Presidency.
Cvijanović added that Republika Srpska operates within a certain "given environment," meaning that greater effort must be made to ensure it becomes more robust and resilient to any challenges or pressures.
