Serb Member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović met with members of the North Atlantic Council today in Brussels.

BRUSSELS, APRIL 15 /SRNA/ - Serb Member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović told members of the North Atlantic Council in Brussels today that the current crisis is an opportunity for BiH to return to its people and institutions, which should carry out their obligations validly, credibly in the spirit of democracy.

Cvijanović has emphasized it is up to these institutions to define or regulate certain areas, not to some unappointed foreigner as has been the case so far.

"This is not a fight for one man, as some are trying to portray, this is a fight for institutions. Many say it is a fight for Milorad Dodik. This is a fight for the president of Republika Srpska as the most important institution in the Republika Srpska system, but also a fight for all other institutions," said Cvijanović.

Cvijanović stated that during the meeting in Brussels, she emphasized that BiH is an experiment and has been kept in the status of a colony for 30 years.

"BiH has received an indescribable level of foreign interventions, but these foreign interventions have not helped to ensure greater unity in the country. On the contrary, they have led the country to collapse," Cvijanović emphasized.

Such interventions, she pointed out, have only caused BiH to have neither a domestic nor a foreign policy today, that there is no cohesion whatsoever, and that the misunderstanding or distrust that exists between the constituent peoples, including the two entities, has today reached such a level that it actually threatens the existence of BiH itself.

Cvijanović said that she asked at the meeting what it meant when they said they respected the High Representative.

"You respect fake democracy, fake independence, fake sovereignty. You respect the chaos in the state that such a foreigner supports or creates, and they have been created it for 30 years by various high-ranking representatives, including this one who lacks the legitimacy to call himself like that," Cvijanović told RTRS.

She pointed out that at the meeting she pointed out that there was a political and constitutional crisis in BiH, which has no security implications.

"I said that there is definitely no potential for any conflict within BiH. I also pointed out the abuse or attempted abuse of what is called the capacity of the Armed Forces of BiH as a joint three-component armed force, where Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks are represented," Cvijanović said.

Cvijanović emphasized that the threats come from those who persistently send such messages, but that this type of threat "does not reside in Republika Srpska."

"I pointed to it. And of course, it is our institutions that defend both the Dayton role and the Dayton constitution, and that all activities carried out at the level of Republika Srpska are in favour of defending what are the actual Dayton principles, not invented ones achieved through certain modifications," Cvijanović stated.

Cvijanović pointed out during the meeting that individuals said they were defending the Dayton Peace Agreement, but actually were not.

"They defend those modifications or amendmentse made in an unconstitutional and illegal manner during these 30 years. Such interventions were carried out by unappointed foreigners in BiH. I also said that if the formula did not work, then the formula should be changed," Cvijanović concluded.
