ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, JULY 1 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović told SRNA that it is evident that it is sufficient for only the deputy high representative to remain in BiH.
Commenting on SRNA's observation that no agreement had been reached between the Americans and Europeans on the high representative, and reminding that she had previously said it would be sufficient for only the deputy to remain, Cvijanović said it is obvious that this is enough and stressed that one thing is important - the role of high representatives is now being approached differently than it has been over the past 30 years.
"The preservation of the Bonn powers is unacceptable to Republika Srpska, and that is where the entire issue begins and ends. With such a cumbersome and undemocratic mechanism, BiH has no chance whatsoever," Cvijanović emphasized.
Asked to comment on three questions posed to her by the president of the Safe Srpska Movement, Draško Stanivuković, regarding the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH, Cvijanović said that everyone, including him, would receive all the answers during the session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
"In the meantime, we could also ask why Mladen Ivanić, when he had a favorable environment in the Presidency, limited the decision on the transfer to the domestic authorities to 12 months? He could have resolved the matter in full and spared us all the subsequent abuses related to this issue. We will also discuss the January decision and the various deceptive methods people use to sign and publish a decision that was not final," Cvijanović stressed.
The Assembly is the place where the story of manipulation comes to an end, Cvijanović said, adding that there are still attempts to manipulate the decision adopted a few days ago by outvoting.
"But they will not succeed," Cvijanović said.
