EAST SARAJEVO, JUNE 28 /SRNA/ - A coordinated political project is underway in BiH aimed at marginalizing Croats as a constituent people, under the umbrella of a Bosniak united political effort, with the goal of reducing the Croat population in BiH to the level of a national minority, reports Večernji List, the BiH edition.
The paper states that Bosniak political elites are conducting a systematic, institutional engineering effort, most visibly reflected in the method of electing delegates to the House of Peoples and the persistent refusal of all Bosniak parties to amend the Election Law.
According to the paper, the Bosniak political strategy includes walking out of parliamentary sessions whenever proposals to amend the election legislation, which would ensure legitimate representation of Croats in institutions, are on the agenda, thereby deliberately blocking any attempt to enable equal representation for the Croat people.
"This coordinated political project is not limited to the electoral process, but is deeply rooted in public discourse. Bosniacs portray Croats as a disruptive factor, framing their calls for equality as demands for a `third entity` or as efforts to break up BiH. When aiming to completely discredit them, they label them as `aggressors`...," writes Večernji List.
The paper notes that efforts are currently underway to construct a unitary state dominated by Bosniaks, in which the foundations of three-constituent-people equality, on which BiH formally rests, are gradually being dismantled through electoral engineering, institutional discrimination, and political rhetoric.
