SARAJEVO, JULY 9 /SRNA/ - Whenever he loses a political battle, Denis Bećirović runs to the truncated Constitutional Court, convinced that Bosniak and foreign judges will give him what neither the Constitution nor the Dayton Agreement has granted him, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac said.
Košarac pointed out that the attempt to reinstate foreign members to the Commission to Preserve National Monuments is a Bosniak political project aimed at rewriting history, erasing Serb cultural identity, creating a "false Bosnian heritage" and opening the way for the seizure of Republika Srpska's property.
"That is why he is bothered by the veto of the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović. That is why he is bothered by the unanimous support of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. That is why he is bothered by every constitutional right of Republika Srpska and by the fact that we do not accept political dictates from Sarajevo," Košarac said.
He pointed out that Bećirović's obsession with Republika Srpska has long gone beyond the framework of political struggle and that his only agenda is to settle accounts with Republika Srpska.
According to him, Željka Cvijanović's veto was a "fully constitutional, legitimate and responsible act of protecting the interests of Republika Srpska and the Serb people," while the support of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska showed that, when it comes to defending Srpska's constitutional position, there is unity that no appeal can overturn.
"It is high time for Bosniak politicians to understand the reality - the leadership of Republika Srpska and its institutions will never seek Sarajevo's permission to protect Srpska's constitutional position and the interests of the Serb people, nor to exercise the rights guaranteed by the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution," Košarac wrote on Instagram.
