AMIDŽIĆ CALLS ON MEMBERS OF MANAGEMENT BOARD TO DECLARE THEIR POSITION BY 13:00 ON RULEBOOK THAT WOULD ENABLE OPENING OF NEW BORDER CROSSING

SARAJEVO, MAY 19 /SRNA/ - The Chairman of the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/ of BiH, Srđan Amidžić, called on members of the Management Board of the ITA to authorise the director of the Authority to adopt amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organization, which would enable the new border crossing in Gradiška to become operational.

Amidžić presented this proposal due to the emergency caused by the partial collapse of the bridge over the Sava River and the complete suspension of traffic at the Gradiška border crossing, as well as because of the threat to citizens and property.

He states that, due to the urgency of the situation, members of the Management Board should declare their position by 13:00 today.

A partial collapse of the concrete structure and railing occurred overnight on the bridge over the Sava River in Gradiška, causing a complete suspension of cross-border traffic for all vehicles and pedestrians.
