ZHDANOVA: EU PREPARING INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A LARGE-SCALE MILITARY CONFLICT

MOSCOW, JULY 15 /SRNA/ - EU countries are preparing infrastructure for a large-scale military conflict, said Yulia Zhdanova, head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control.

"To this end, attention is being paid, among other things, to adapting civilian transport and logistics infrastructure to the needs of military planning and operational mobility," Zhdanova said at a regular meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation.

She said that projects of this kind are being launched in the Netherlands, which announced last month that it had completed four logistics research programmes, TASS reported.

"In addition, Dutch authorities are considering legally introducing the right to intervene in the operations of private companies to force them to fulfil military orders. And this is not the only example," Zhdanova warned.
