MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 16 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – The current policy of the German Government is aimed at preparing the military, the state and the economy for a potential large-scale conflict with Russia, said Iulia Zhdanova, head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna negotiations on military security and arms control.
Speaking at a plenary session of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation, Zhdanova said that the actions of those behind the “drone hysteria” in Germany represent a major political mistake and a deliberate decision to escalate the military and political situation in Europe.
“The best guarantee of Germany’s security would be to abandon its complicity in supporting the Kyiv regime and to end diplomatic, military and financial support for that regime. It is high time to understand that ‘palliative’ assistance to terrorists will not change the situation on the ground and cannot affect our determination to achieve the objectives of the special military operation,” Zhdanova said.
According to her, the drone provocation in Leipzig benefits only Europe’s military-industrial complex, including Germany’s, which profits from preparations for war against Russia.
“The collective West is not abandoning its illusory goal of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia through comprehensive support for Ukraine’s military capabilities, with Ukraine acting as a proxy for NATO and the EU,” Zhdanova said.
She stressed that Russia is calling on NATO member states to assess the real risks of uncontrolled militarization in Europe and prevent the situation from developing toward the worst possible scenario.
