ZELENSKY NOMINATES YEVHENIY HMARA AS NEW DEFENSE MINISTER

KYIV, JULY 16 /SRNA/ - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he has nominated Yevheniy Hmara as the country's Defense Minister following a major government reshuffle.

Hmara has served as acting head of Ukraine's Security Service /SBU/ since January 5 and has played an important role in shaping Ukraine's tactics against Russia.

"I have tasked Yevheniy Hmara with serving as acting minister, continuing the reform of the defense sector and ensuring that Ukraine achieves all the results we have discussed," Zelensky wrote on X.

Zelensky added that once the necessary legal procedures are completed, he will ask lawmakers to support Yevheniy Hmara's nomination for the post of Ukraine's Defense Minister, the Baha portal reported.
