ENERHODAR, JUNE 20 /SRNA–RIA Novosti/ – The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been reconnected to the power grid after losing its only external power line, announced the International Atomic Energy Agency.
“The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was reconnected to the power grid today at 5:50 p.m. local time, bringing to an end the latest loss of off-site power, which lasted four and a half hours,” the Agency stated.
The plant’s management confirmed that the facility is operating normally following the restoration of power. Radiation levels remain within the natural background range.
“The return to the normal electricity supply regime was carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations,” the statement added.
