WASHINGTON, JULY 18 /SRNA/ – The administration of US President Donald Trump is set to introduce a grant program for Europe and other regions aimed at supporting initiatives aligned with the MAGA movement as part of a broader overhaul of US foreign aid priorities, the Financial Times reported.
The proposed program also includes a $2 million grant to counter censorship stemming from European Union regulations, including the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act, according to a State Department notification sent to US lawmakers.
The State Department previously announced that it would allocate up to $5 million for organizations working on issues related to national sovereignty, migration, censorship and the misuse of judicial systems, in line with what it described as a shared political philosophy, legal principles and Western heritage.
The funding is expected to be distributed among two or three organizations, with the principal recipient eligible to receive up to $3 million.
