USHAKOV: PUTIN TO MEET XI ON MONDAY

MOSCOW, AUGUST 28 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ - Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Bishkek on Monday, August 31, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.

Ushakov said Putin and Xi would discuss the most pressing international issues, as well as the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline project.

“This is a very important meeting for us. It will be the second meeting between the two leaders this year,” Ushakov told reporters.

Ushakov added that the leaders would also meet at the BRICS summit in New Delhi in mid-September, and at the APEC forum in China in November.

Putin will take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan, which begins today and runs until Tuesday, September 1.
