WASHINGTON, AUGUST 24 /SRNA/ - US President Donald Trump announced that, starting January 1 next year, Canada will face 50 percent tariffs on vehicles, auto parts, and steel imported into the United States.
“Starting January 1, 2027, tariffs on all automobiles, trucks, both large and small, auto parts, and steel will be increased to 50 percent,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He accused Canada of imposing unnecessary tariffs on US food products and said Ottawa’s unsustainable trade policy had caused a $60 billion trade deficit.
