WASHINGTON, OCTOBER 17 /SRNA – RIA Novosti/ – US President Donald Trump has suspended the imposition of new sanctions and tariffs on Russia as provided for by the so-called Graham Act until further notice.
"The waivers described in subsections of this section shall remain in effect until such time as the President or the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury and the Trade Representative, as appropriate, determine that further action is appropriate," the document says.
On September 18, Trump signed legislation that allows for the imposition of new sanctions and tariffs on Russia.
Earlier in the day, the US President had signed an executive order expressing opposition to the imposition of sanctions against Russian officials, banks, and organizations under the Graham Act.
