SWASHINGTON, AUGUST 14 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - U.S. President Donald Trump has imposed tariffs on drones and their components, the White House announced.
According to the White House, a 100 percent tariff will apply to drones considered the most high-risk from the standpoint of U.S. national security, including aircraft with a maximum payload of more than 25 kilograms and thermal imaging capabilities, as well as docking stations and key components for them.
A 25 percent tariff will be imposed on smaller drones.
The White House statement said the decision was made to address the national security threat posed by drone imports, as well as to strengthen the U.S. drone industry and supply chains.
